What will they ban next? By John Stossel. In a free society the issue is: Who decides what I eat, the government or me? It's not as though information about trans fats is hard to come by. Unfortunately, CSPI is not content to tell you avoid trans fats. It sues restaurants like McDonald's and KFC for using them, and urges governments to ban them. But why do the health police get to take away my choices? Adults should be expected to take responsibility for their own health.

IN State sues New Horizons Inc. The Indiana attorney general sued New Horizons Inc., of Gary, and its founders. The state seeks to recover $251,000 in anti-smoking grant money that it says could not be properly accounted for. No one has been criminally charged, although Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter is reviewing the audit. Walter Scott says auditors misinterpreted his financial reports. TX Use of grant funds in question. Officials worry money given to Clean Air by health district 'lobbying.' A state oversight group has also begun looking into the matter.
