Hawaii smokers light up as law goes unenforced. “I am complying with the law if we post signs and we inform our customers of what the law is, which is exactly what we do,” said Bill Comerford, co-owner of E&J Lounge Operating Co., which runs O’Toole’s Irish Pub, Kelley O’Neil’s and the Irish Rose Saloon in Honolulu. “If they smoke in our bars, they made that choice and it’s not for me as a business owner to cite them.”
State grants exemption to smoking ban. The PA state Department of Health granted more than 1,700 exceptions to the statewide ban that took effect September 11.
Smoking ban 'causing NHS problems' "At the mental health trust where I work, the frequency of fires has quadrupled since the start of the ban," he claimed. He said the increasing number of fires is thought to be a result of patients no longer being supervised in smoking rooms.

What's happening in the Netherlands? By Wiel Maessen. The Dutch government, in it's arrogance, has never expected an organised opposition when they set up this anti-smoking law. But the Dutch obviously don't want this law and therefore show their famous civil disobedience. And in city after city, bar owners gather and decide to put the ashtrays on the tables again.
